Through their upfront work in fashion, art, music and economy, the inspiring people of our Spring and Summer 2018 collection lookbook represent a way of being that is daring and vulnerable — TRANSPARENT. The work of Ona Kamu has been a never ending source of inspiration for us through the amazing presence and physicality that Kamu is able to transmit. Her recent solo album has been played at our studio repetitively making us feel the tangibility of sound. She is one of the most courage people we know, challenging the boundaries of what can be done and what is appropriate. It is said that Kamu is the Björk of Finland, but for us she is totally one of the kind. We invited Kamu to a beautiful beach in Espoo and talked with her about how art connects us to our bodies.
Music and stage artist
PLEASE DESCRIBE YOUR BACKGROUND:
Curiosity, momentum, vulnerability. At present.
WHAT DOES TRANSPARENCY MEAN TO YOU?
We can only try to go for transparency.
HOW DO YOU THINK THAT ART EFFECTS ON OUR PERCEPTION AND UNDERSTANDING OF OUR BODY?
Art relates everywhere. All the time. Even though we could not be aware of it.
IF YOU WOULD WRITE A SONG FOR A PART OF YOUR BODY, WHICH WOULD IT BE AND HOW WOULD IT SOUND?
Actually I have done a song, where the source of the sounds are from the neural pathway of my muscles. My lip, arm and thigh
